Chadwick T&T undertakes geotechnical investigations for a wide range of projects, from house sites through to major building and infrastructure developments.

The company owns three drilling rigs and has a NATA registered laboratory at its head office in Keysborough, Victoria, enabling all aspects of minor and major investigations to be conducted using in-house resources.

Expertise

Site investigations are led by experienced geotechnical engineers who have the expertise to provide geotechnical design parameters and recommendations on a wide range of design and construction issues. Engineers also collaborate with structural designers to develop innovative and cost-effective footing solutions.

A key aspect of the site investigation work undertaken is groundwater assessments, including evaluation of groundwater levels, flow rates and flow direction and the impact of groundwater on proposed project construction. Monitoring and analysis is often continued through the construction phase and beyond.

We routinely undertake investigations to assess the stability of cuttings, embankments for roads, waterways, dams and bridges, as well as for multi-storey buildings, underground car parks, cellars, open pit quarries and access roads.

Site investigations are carried out to assess the ability to excavate or rip rock materials for projects such as major roads, dams, industrial developments sewerage schemes and cable trenches.

An in-house library is maintained that includes a range of commercial computer programmes as well as specialist in-house programmes for analysis of slope stability, embankment and structure settlement, pile analysis and foundation design.

Experience

Site investigation experience includes projects such as flood retention basins and irrigation dams, wind towers, regional sewerage schemes, major quarries and bridges.

Our staff have undertaken more than 10,000 geotechnical investigations for residential and industrial developments in the greater Melbourne area.
